On Tuesday, Nicole Eggert appeared on Megyn Kelly Today to discuss claims that Charles in Charge co-star Scott Baio sexually assaulted her when he was a minor.
Eggert says that Baio, who is 11 years older than her, befriended her and earned her trust when the show started filming in 1986, and that before her 15th birthday he penetrated her with his finger when they were in his car. She says that’s when the abuse started.
“The issue with him is that he was our boss,” Eggert said. “And he also was telling me, ‘You can’t tell anybody, it’s illegal. I’ll go to jail. The show will be over. Everybody will be sued. You’ll be out of a job. You’ll ruin everybody’s life.'”

On Saturday, Eggert quoted a tweet about Baio’s support for President Donald Trump and alleged that he molested her when she was 14. Baio then went on Facebook to defend himself in a wobbly 16-minute video in which he claimed Eggert “seduced him.”

On Megyn Kelly Today, Eggert said that she and Baio did have sex when she was 17, though Baio insists in the Facebook video that she was 18 and that she never spoke about the abuse because she was “protecting the show.” Two Charles in Charge cast members, Alexander Polinsky and Adam Carl, have supported Eggert’s claims.

Eggert, who appeared with her attorney Lisa Bloom, said she is considering filing a police report.
