Once Carolyn Pease walked through the front door of her son and daughter-in-law‘s home, she knew that something strange was going on.

She hadn’t seen her kids in months and was finally visiting them after a long time apart. As she entered the house, she saw that her son, Tanin, was holding a camera up and filming her every move. As if that wasn’t odd enough, the young couple was acting pretty weird themselves.

In the video below, posted on February 24, 2017, Tanin greets his suspicious motherat the door. “Hi, Mom,” he says with energy.

“Hello, how are you?” she asks with a warytone in her voice.

“We have a surprise for you,” Tanin blurts out.

His mom stands there in confusion and silence. Then, she asks, “What?”

Carolyn’s eyes dart around the room, looking for an answer to her own question. As her husband closes the front door behind them, she looks to the right and doesn’t see any sort of surprise waiting for her.

She then turns around and stops. She lays eyes on her daughter-in-law and is absolutely stunned. Her jaw drops and her eyes widen as she looks at the full baby bump plumping up Katie’s stomach. In that moment, she realizes that her kids had lost touch with her for 9 months in order to surprise her with the greatest gift a grandmother could ever ask for another grandchild.

The couple’s pregnancy surprise was pretty bizarre and very late, but it made Carolyn’s incredible reaction even more meaningful.
