The 49-year-old, who had been battling alcoholism for years, reportedly became unresponsive when he was at the hospital and was transferred to another facility better suited to care for him.
TMZ was told that Verne's organs started failing and he was put on life support. Sadly, his health continued to decline until life support was pulled on Saturday.
Toxicology results are still pending.
