Tom Brady, for those of you who don't know, plays quarterback for the New England Patriots. He's an extremely successful athlete, and probably gets asked "what is your secret?" a lot.
Well, now he's released a book that reveals his tricks, which are extremely questionable and extraordinarily unscientific. Amongst the stranger claims of the book is that he became immune to sunburn because he drinks 11.4 liters (2.5 gallons) of water a day.
But that's not how it works. That's not how it works at all.
Tom wrote in his book, The TB12 Method: How to Achieve a Lifetime of Sustained Peak Performance, that he stopped getting sunburn thanks to his water consumption.
"When I was growing up, and playing outside in the sun, I got sunburned a lot. I was a fair-skinned Irish boy, after all," he wrote, as transcribed by SB Nation.
Brace yourselves, science fans.
"These days, even if I get an adequate amount of sun, I won’t get a sunburn, which I credit to the amount of water I drink."
Yeah. It gets worse. Also, Tom's sister talks like she's live on QVC.
"I always hydrate afterward, too, to keep my skin from peeling. When I once told that to my sister, she said, 'You mean I don’t have to use all those moisturizers and facial products to keep my skin looking good? I should just drink as much water as you do? I think you should market your TB12 Electrolytes as a beauty product.' I just laughed."
Let's be clear: There is no evidence whatsoever that drinking a lot of water can prevent you from getting sunburn. The best ways to avoid sunburn are to use sunscreen and stay in shade.
Brady presumably also uses SPF as well, otherwise he'd be getting sunburn. Because, we can't stress this enough, drinking a lot of water won't prevent the sun from burning your skin.
There are also no clear benefits to drinking as much water as Tom if you aren't getting as much exercise as he is.
The Food and Nutrition Board's advice (recommended by the CDC) says women should take in approximately 2.7 liters (0.6 gallons) of total water a day (from all beverages and foods), and men an average of 3.7 liters (0.8 gallons). Tom drinks up to a whopping 11.4 liters (2.5 gallons), which is probably fine for him as an athlete, but is pushing at unhealthy levels for non-athletes.
Drinking too much water can lead to health problems, rather than sun-resisting superpowers.

There’s a scene toward the end of the new Netflix movie The Incredible Jessica James in which Jessica Williams’ character, also named Jessica, argues with her love interest in the middle of the street. Exasperated, Boone (Chris O’Dowd) tells Jessica, “I really like you.” In a typical romantic comedy, Jessica might either A) capitulate and say she really likes him, too or B) burst into tears, and end the relationship. But The Incredible Jessica James isn’t your normal rom-com, and Jessica James isn’t your normal heroine. So instead, she chooses response C: “Yeah, Boone, of course you do. Everybody does. I’m friggin’ dope.” And, with that, she walks away.
Sitting on the couch in New York’s Bryant Park Hotel, early in the morning on a rainy mid-July day, Williams breaks into a grin when I bring up this line. “You never hear that. You never hear a woman saying ,” the actor says, leaning forward. “They’re always like, ‘please, please love me.'”
“She says ‘sorry’ when she’s wrong, but she’s not being like, ‘sorry I’m alive,’ you know?” she continues. “So hopefully, when people see , there’ll be more parts where women just get to exist, because in a lot of roles for men, they don’t have to ask to exist. They just are.”
And at age 28, with Jessica James, a popular podcast, and various other projects in the pipeline, Williams just is—but that didn’t come without a hell of a lot of work. Although her journey to success might seem to have happened overnight (in college, she became a correspondent on Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show, where she stayed for a much-lauded four-year run), the reality is anything but. Her career actually started back in the mid-’00s, when, as a teen, she starred on Nickelodeon’s Just for Kicks; later, she’d spend years doing auditions and performing at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. Yes, her Daily Show spot came along quickly, but she earned her place—and as anyone who’s seen her work on the series… or her role in the film People Places Things… or heard her chatter on 2 Dope Queens, can attest, she’s been proving her worth ever since.
Jessica James, though, is her biggest platform yet to show off the voice and talent that got her that Daily Show spot in the first place. Written and directed by James C. Strouse, who directed Williams in the acclaimed People Places Things, the film stars the actor as a 20-something playwright struggling to find success (both romantic and professional) while living in New York. The role was written for Williams (which feels “pretty damn great,” she says) and while O’Dowd and Keith Stanfield, who plays Jessica’s ex, are strong in it, it’s her movie.
In the film world, female actors are still rarely depicted as vividly as Jessica is, and Williams is glad that she can be an exception. “What I want to add is a new way for people to see women and a new way for people to see Black women,” she says. “Multiple versions of Black women are allowed to exist, and multiple versions of funny Black women are allowed to exist.”
Williams says she admires her character’s “unapologetic” nature, the self-assuredness that leads her to tell a guy how “friggin’ dope” she is and never doubt her place in life. “She’s not defined by her relationships,” the actor says. “Really, what she’s driven by are her goals.” The same can be said for Williams, whose career so far reads like a checklist of any aspiring comedian’s dreams. But unlike her character in the film, the actor isn’t all confidence, all the time.
“With acting and doing comedy and doing live shows, there’s so much room for you to doubt yourself,” Williams says. “When I’m having those feelings, I acknowledge it, and allow myself to sit with it, and then when I’m done with that, then I do something about it.”
“I’ve had to learn to not just put it in a box and then push it away, because then it just gets bigger and bigger,” she adds. “I have to really pay attention to it and be like, oh why do I feel this way? Why am I doubting myself today? Oh cool, what’s truth and what’s a lie? OK great, let’s lean into what the truth is and let’s do something about this.”
Williams is making self-care a priority, especially when it comes to her own self-esteem. As she told the New York Times recently, she and her 2 Dope Queens co-host Phoebe Robinson work to ensure that they’re “the stars of own narratives,” but that’s easier said than done. There are times when, Williams says, she finds herself pushed to the sidelines, or treated in a way she finds a “disservice.” When that happens, she doesn’t yell, or fight, or blame herself; instead, she simply makes her voice heard.
“As a woman, as a Black woman, I always want to try and be professional no matter what. I think it’s kind of necessary if I want to continue to work,” the actor explains. “So I think if is happening in the moment, I speak up. Because that’s what I definitely can do—that’s what’s in my control, and how people respond to it is out of my control.”
“And if nobody really adjusts after I speak up, then I finish what I’m doing and I’m professional and calm and then I make note of it, and I make note of the way that person wrote or the way that person directed or the way that person acted and I just remember it, I file it away,” she continues. “And just know that it’s like, when the time comes around again, I won’t do that again.”
“And then,” she finishes, “I’ll go vent, I’ll go to a boxing class and punch some shit out, or I’ll talk to my therapist about it, have a cocktail with my other Black female friends or female friends who understand.”
It’s an impressive attitude, but not one that a person arrives at without some trial and error. When Williams started out on The Daily Show, she was just 22, and the pressures of taking on such a coveted job—and being the both show’s first Black correspondent and its youngest—were immense. Even as she earned raves for her work and grew in fame, she struggled, turning to therapy. “I think it took a while for me to figure out balance,” Williams says. “I was trying to figure out how to balance my personal life with my work and what my expectations of myself were versus what the expectations of work were for me.”
When Stewart stepped down as host in 2015, fans and critics alike clamored for Williams to take on his role, but she quickly shot down the idea in a series of tweets explaining how unqualified she was for the job. Looking back, she says not trying out for the gig was “the right thing,” adding, “I think that I did, and am still doing, what’s best for me.”
She doesn’t rule out the possibility of hosting her own show down the line (“I think that would be very premature to think, ‘I’m never doing that,'” she says with a laugh), but her goals for the immediate future are more simple: travel more, get through her reading list, be “the best aunt ever” to her sister’s infant son. One day, she wants to take him to Harry Potter World, as she’s a massive fan of the series (and a self-proclaimed Gryffindor). Recently, Williams has been hanging out with J.K. Rowling, and earlier this summer, the duo sat down for an emotional hours-long chat that Williams later hilariously recapped on Instagram. Rowling, the actor says with glee, was “won-der-ful.” Talking to the author, Williams teared up, overwhelmed by the opportunity to meet someone she considers an idol.
“Lately, I’ve been thinking about, especially since I met , what my 10-year old-self would say, and I think she’d just be so excited that I got to kick it with her,” Williams says. “I think about little me, and I’m like, ‘oh shoot.’ I think she would say it’s kind of badass.”
That’s for sure—at 28, there’s nothing about Williams’ existence that wouldn’t make her younger self proud as hell.

Apparently models really value breakfast during fashion week. This might be because breakfast has been proven to give you a ton of energy for the day, or it might be because it’s literally their only chance to sit down and have a meal all day. Either way, we respect the omelet diet. Eggs have protein and healthy fats, so they’ll keep you full without making you look bloated or giving you a carb crash before lunch. Makes sense.
What a shock. This zero-calorie beverage is a staple in a model’s diet. It’s no secret that drinking water is super healthy for you, and it’s probably one of the reasons these models can keep up with their strict diets. Water fills you up in between meals, in addition to clearing your skin and flushing toxins out of your body. Models chug water all day long and they swear by it. They probably have to pee on the runway, though. #WorthIt
Chia pudding is basically a combination of chia seeds, almond milk, and sometimes some vanilla or cinnamon to sweeten it up. Models like Karlie Kloss swear by chia pudding because it’s super healthy and super easy to make. Chia seeds have protein and fiber in them, and you can make the whole concoction in a few minutes. Karlie uses a pinch of sea salt and stevia in hers to add some flavor. Sounds kinda weird, but whatever works.
I highly doubt these models are downing a huge slice of avocado toast before walking down the runway, but they claim to love avocados during fashion week, which makes sense because avocados are filling and low-carb. People hate on avocados because they’re naturally high in fat, but that fat is actually necessary for your body to function properly. A lot of them actually drizzle some olive oil on avocado slices to make it even more filling. Emphasis on the “drizzle,” though.
You’d think models need a ton of caffeine for energy, but they don’t tend to pound coffee like a college student during finals. Most models opt for matcha during fashion week because it has enough caffeine while being a more sustainable option. Plus, people believe it actually helps give your metabolism a boost, which can never hurt. In fact, the founder of ModelFIT recommends matcha to the models she trains, so there’s gotta be something real there.
Models usually carry some nuts with them to snack on throughout the day, including pistachios, walnuts, and almonds. Apparently Alessandra Ambrosio avoids carbs and sugar and swears by nuts to avoid sugar cravings. It sounds like it sucks, but then again, a lot of models only eat this way to prepare for shows and then treat themselves after. Like, Gigi Hadid ends Fashion Week with a burger and fries…. or so she claims.

This stuff comes in a tiny bottle that's only a little bigger than your average container of 5-Hour Energy, which is good for people like me who don't enjoy swallowing massive amounts of liquid. (And I wonder why I'm single.) It's basically got a bunch of chemical compounds that are supposed to boost your body's natural response to alcohol—shit like milk thistle, prickly pear, and something called DHM that sounds like the main ingredients of a capsule I ingested this weekend at EZoo. You're supposed to go out and do what you normally would do, come home and drink Morning Recovery, and then enjoy your next day hangover-free. However, because I'm a delinquent, I drank this shit while I was pregaming (which they say you can also do), and I think the effects were still the same. I went to EZoo, drank copious amounts of Heineken and tequila, and still woke up hangover-free, even without the initial headache and residual nausea I usually get from my typical two glasses of wine at happy hour. I ordered this shit off GoFundMe because I'm forever chasing a way to avoid consequences for my actions. Sue me. Mentis is similar to Morning Recovery in that it contains a bunch of ingredients I can't pronounce and don't care to understand, and it basically has a lot of supplements and shit to help your body repair itself. It comes in a little packet much like your regular Emergen-C and you pour it into water and drink the water. The main difference here is, you NEED to take it BEFORE you start drinking. Seems easy enough unless you're me and start drinking at 3pm most days and don't bring your Mentis to brunch. Oh well. I tried this, and I also felt like I avoided a hangover which was pretty impressive considering I mixed a lot of types of alcohol and had a tequila soda at like, 1:30am because I'm a psychopath with no regard for my own life. The only downside to this stuff is that while the peach flavor is good, this shit is chalky as hell. It was v hard to choke down the whole glass. But I'd take that over being immobile and marathoning five straight hours of on a gorgeous 80-degree Sunday any day.
I've only recently discovered that eating a burger before I go out drinking will save me from a debilitating hangover the next day. And science backs me up on this, so stay with me here. The protein from the meat has amino acids and B vitamins that help you process the undesirable byproducts of alcohol, and eating a meal that consists of carbs, fat, and protein helps you metabolize the alcohol. You might feel bloated and disgusting, but science didn't tell you to order the side of fries over the salad, so it sounds like this is a personal problem.
Even if you don't have a headache, it's not a bad idea to take an ibuprofen before bed to reduce inflammation caused by alcohol. Plus, that extra sip of water required for you to swallow the pill probably doesn't hurt either. However, you need to make sure that you're taking ibuprofen and NOT acetaminophen. I always get the two confused and used to take them interchangeably until my friend yelled at me, because it's a TERRIBLE idea. Drinking on acetaminophen (and even taking it the day after drinking) can lead to liver damage, which is precisely the organ you want to protect if you want alcohol to remain a part of your life. Just so you remember, acetaminophen is Tylenol and ibuprofen is Advil. Bookmark this page for later; you're welcome.
Apologies for sounding like a MADD presentation, but in my (very extensive) experience the only way to guarantee I don't have a terrible hangover is to not black out. Once I experience memory loss, I'm fucked. Obviously there's no science to speak to this because scientists are lame and can't hang, but like, this would be my personal recommendation to you. Get wasted, just don't black out, and maybe there's a shred of hope for you and all the errands you have to run tomorrow.

Billions of women have given birth, and yet, every birth is just as captivating as the one which came (a millisecond) before it. There is something that we, as humans, find irresistible about bulging bellies and newborn babies.
As humans, we are also addicted to capturing every moment of our lives on camera. An addiction which heightens during pregnancy, as you work to ensure every precious moment is documented. Although, when this mother turned the camera on to film her bump, she didn’t expect to capture this… Pregnancy, whilst natural and beautiful, is a bizarre process. As the stomach expands to accommodate the growing fetus, the body begins to experience some peculiar moments. From cravings to kicks, the process is full of surprises. For roughly nine months, the female body is at the liberty of the new life growing inside it, whether that means stretch marks or morning sickness – something not even royalty can avoid. But, whilst this can all feel quite overwhelming, there are many moments during pregnancy where you feel like the luckiest person alive.
Which is just how this mother felt, when she looked down at her swelling stomach. However, that feeling of pride was quickly replaced with awe as she saw the skin below her ribs ripple. The baby was moving, but, this wasn’t like anything she’d seen in the parenting guidebooks…
As her skin contorted, the expectant mother (of a baby alien?!) grabbed her phone and began recording. The footage makes for captivating viewing… The, clearly impatient, baby forces their tiny feet through the skin with severe force. Making the mothers belly look like a set piece from Ridley Scott’s latest Alien film. Despite the extreme force her baby is using, the mother continues to film the moment. Her legs calmly crossed, she is clearly not fazed by her expanding skin. Evidently, she is going to make a fantastic mother once her ‘monster’ baby is born.
Meanwhile, the internet went into meltdown over the footage, which many likened to a sci-fi movie. Viewers were divided, those who had already experienced pregnancy were in awe of the “beautiful” clip, whilst those who hadn’t had the pleasure of having a baby inside of them, were horrorstruck. “People found that disturbing? ?? It’s one of the most beautiful sights ever!” wrote one user. Whilst another, rather hauntingly wrote: “The worst one is when a foot/arm/or elbow gets stuck under the ribs, it’s agony but also funny & amazing.”
While the mother appears to be bearing the brunt of her fighting-fit baby now, many were quick to comment that when the little monster reaches teenage years, the mother will be a lot less calm. Could this aggressive kicking be a sign of the times to come? Temper tantrums could be a regular occurrence! Maybe Kim Kardashian had viewed this footage before she chose to have her third child via a surrogate. No doubt, we will be witnessing similar videos from the social media-obsessed Kylie Jenner, if and when, her pregnancy rumors are confirmed. Watch this space!

As a lot of you will have heard by now, the infamous “Cash Me Outside”girl, AKA Danielle Bregoli, has been signed by Atlantic Records, alongside megastars such as Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran. In fact, she recently released her first two singles, ‘Hi Bich’ and ‘Whachu Know’ – racking up millions of views in just a matter of hours.
And it turns out Danielle is just like any other bona fide rapper out there, choosing to rap about all the things she owns that we we’ll never be able to afford, such as a her “white Porsche” and “foreign cars”. Considering the relative obscenity of her music and the success she has managed to accumulate in such a short amount of time, it’s easy to forget just how young the up-and-coming rapper is. She is in fact still just 14 years old. However, Bregoli’s own father Ira Peskowitz believes those in the industry have been taking advantage of the teenager. It’s actually pretty alarming that a 14-year-old child, whom we already know has come from a troubled background, has been given all the help in the world to enter into the highly sexualized world of rap. And according to her father, she is now being encouraged to have underage sex by those in the industry.
Peskowitz criticised Danielle’s mother for allowing their young and impressionable daughter to associate with rappers who have questionable motives.
“Why would her mother allow her to hang out with a guy so violent like Kodak Black, even the crimes he committed against others. He’s the one who Skyped with Danielle and talked to her, telling her how to have sex with a guy who was coming over. People watch that, and they’re making money off of it”
You can definitely see where Bregoli’s dad is coming from. I mean, for one thing, rapper Kodak Black is currently serving a five-year probation on sexual assault charges. And NBA Youngboy, another rapper who has befriended the teenager, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder.
“The biggest fear obviously is, besides her psychological and emotional well-being from being around these people and being exposed to their drugs, their cursing, their sex, I’m really concerned about retaliation. As much as we love to hate the teenager we’ve all come to know as the “Cash Me Outside” girl, there’s no escaping the fact that she is still very much a child in a very adult industry. There are plenty of reasons to fear for her wellbeing when she is surrounding herself with people who have been in trouble with the law for committing pretty serious crimes. Unfortunately, as anyone who saw her infamous appearance on Dr Phil knows, she isn’t one to do as she’s told. Hopefully she won’t get herself into too much trouble, although I’m not holding out much hope!

President Donald Trump criticized former President Barack Obama for gas prices rising in the past. But with Hurricane Harvey expected to push gas prices higher, it raises the question: Can a president really affect the price of gas?
The short answer? No.
In 2012, Trump tweeted that gas prices were set to hit a “record high” ahead of Labor Day, adding that Obama could have “stopped” the price increase.

Several years later, Trump appears to think that he is now in a position to stop prices from increasing, judging from his past statements.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders did not immediately respond to a request for comment by the Daily Dot about what specifically Trump thinks he can do to stop Americans from seeing a surge in gas prices, as he suggested Obama could have done.
While gas is averaging $2.40 a gallon currently, that number is expected to climb ahead of the Labor Day holiday weekend, as gasoline futures—which reflect wholesale prices and eventually set the market for consumers—spiked 6 percent on Wednesday after flooding from Hurricane Harvey shut down one of the largest refineries in the United States. Gas futures have risen 13 percent since Friday, before Harvey made landfall in Texas.
Rising gas futures is directly related to paying more at the pump. “Retailers can either go out of business or pass their costs along,” Tom Kloza, director of global energy analysis at the Oil Price Information Service, told CNN.
So can Trump do something to save everyone’s wallets as they fill up the tank before the holiday weekend? Probably not.
Domestic production of gas increased during the Obama administration, but the United States still buys much of the oil it consumes from other countries. Essentially, gas prices are determined by supply and demand, not a stroke of a pen by the president.
While presidents can expand the production of gas domestically, it likely wouldn’t have too much of an effect on the price you see at gas stations when you fill up your car.
Also, economists argue, the price of gas rises during good economic circumstances and lowers during a bad economy, as demand for the gas is lower.
So unless Trump has a plan to tank the U.S. economy, we should expect to see similar prices at the pumps this holiday weekend—which, all told, is probably a better option for everyone.

Toys “R” Us Inc., which has struggled to lift its fortunes since a buyout loaded the retailer with debt more than a decade ago, is preparing a bankruptcy filing as soon as today, according to people familiar with the situation.
The Chapter 11 reorganization of America’s largest toy chain would deal another blow to a brick-and-mortar industry that’s already reeling from store closures, sluggish mall traffic and the threat of Amazon.com Inc.
Filing for bankruptcy would allow Toys “R” Us to restructure $400 million in debt that comes due next year, potentially letting the chain rebuild as a leaner organization. The retailer has hired a claims agent, which typically helps with administering such a process, people with knowledge of the situation said last week. And its vendors have been curtailing shipments amid concern that Toys “R” Us might not be able to pay its bills.
“This filing is really a buildup of financial problems over the past 15 years,” said Jim Silver, an industry analyst and the editor of toy-review site TTPM.com. “Finally, the straw broke the camel’s back.”
With speculation of a bankruptcy mounting, shares of Toys “R” Us’s vendors tumbled on Monday. Mattel Inc., the maker of Barbie and Fisher-Price, fell 6.2 percent -- its worst decline in seven weeks. Shares of Hasbro, the company behind Monopoly, Nerf and Transformers, dropped 1.7 percent.
A representative for Toys “R” Us declined to comment.
JPMorgan Chase & Co., Barclays Plc, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Wells Fargo & Co. are said to be vying to provide financing for Toys “R” Us while it goes through bankruptcy. Reorg Research said earlier Monday that a filing could come as soon as today.
The debtor-in-possession loan -- known as a DIP -- could be as much as $3 billion, a person with knowledge of the discussions said.
Ratings agencies have rushed to cut their credit ratings on Toys “R” Us to reflect the sinking market sentiment, indicating just how rapidly things have unraveled at the retailer. S&P Global Ratings and Fitch Ratings both downgraded the toy seller Monday, citing media reports and market data pointing to an increased possibility of a broad restructuring. S&P cut its rating to CCC-, the third-lowest level. It had the retailer rated B- just two weeks ago, and Moody’s Investors Service still has a B3 rating and stable outlook for the name.
Much of the toy supplier’s debt is the legacy of a $7.5 billion leveraged buyout more than a decade ago. In 2005, Bain Capital, KKR & Co. and Vornado Realty Trust loaded Toys “R” Us up with debt to take it private. Since then, the Wayne, New Jersey-based chain has struggled to dig itself out.
Some years, the company had to spend as much as half a billion dollars on cash interest expenses alone, according to Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Noel Hebert. That left Toys “R” Us with less cash to put toward store expansions, merchandising, and -- crucially -- the growth of its online presence.
“With these debt levels, how much actual flexibility do you have in this environment?” asked Charles O’Shea, who covers Toys “R” Us for Moody’s Corp. “You have to invest online -- because your principal competitors there are really good -- and you’ve got to deal with the debt load and your maturities on top of that. The pie is only so big.”
Chapter 11 also will help the company get out of burdensome leases, said Craig Johnson, head of Customer Growth Partners.
“The idea being, after a period of time, you work yourself out of Chapter 11 and you go on being a smaller, but financially more healthy retailer,” he said.
In 2015, Toys “R” Us named Dave Brandon as its chief executive officer, turning to the former head of Domino’s Pizza Inc. to attempt a comeback. Brandon had run Domino’s for 11 years and gained a reputation as a turnaround artist. He helped shepherd the pizza chain, then owned by Bain Capital Partners, through the largest initial public offering in restaurant history in 2004.
Brandon showed signs of progress in early 2016, when the company posted its first holiday sales gain in four years.
That year, the chain extended maturities on some of its borrowings, giving it more time to execute Brandon’s plan. As part of his revival effort, he has been sprucing up stores with more toy demonstrations and other experiences.
But the comeback faltered in the more recent Christmas season. Same-store sales dropped 2.5 percent during the final nine weeks of last year, hurt by sluggish demand and deep discounts. The toy seller had to reckon with new competitors driving prices lower and lower, O’Shea said.
Brandon, 65, lamented the price competition during a conference call in June.
“Make no mistake about it, there is a little bit of a price war situation right now,’’ Brandon said.
As the woes have piled up, the cost of insuring against default on Toys “R” Us debt has surged. Prices on six-month and one-year swaps have climbed to record highs, suggesting the market is pricing in all-but-certain odds of a Chapter 11 filing, which protects companies against creditors during a reorganization.
Credit default swaps expiring in December traded at more than 75 points upfront Monday. That means it would cost about $7.5 million to insure $10 million of Toys “R” Us debt.
Toys “R” Us’s bonds have been hammered. Its 7.375 percent notes due 2018 traded for as little as 18 cents during Monday’s session, according to Trace, the bond-price reporting system of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. That’s down from 97.25 cents on Aug. 30.
If Toys “R” Us can get its debt under control again, the chain still has promise, TTPM’s Silver said. Its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization has been good, he said.
“If they didn’t have the debt would be making $500 to $600 million a year in profit,” he said. “The problem is the debt.”
