Last year, a teacher had to buy her students’ supplies out of her own paycheck because the school couldn’t provide them. A total stranger standing with her inthe checkout line heard her story, then gave her $100 for the supplies.

When Rachael Ray caught wind of the good deed, she was so inspired thatshe decidedto continue the idea.

She gave every single member of her studio audience $100 and asked them to pay it forward. However, one couple went above and beyond.

Deena and Henry used the $100 to create care packages for the homeless. Each packageincludes supplies and a note that says “Smile, you’re amazing! Don’t ever forget it.”

However, they didn’t stop after spending the initial $100. They continued to create the care packages and now always keep 10 of them in their car and one in the passenger’s seat.

Any time they see someone in need, they have the bags on hand to donate them.

Not only did it make them happy, it made us really happy, too,” Deena said.

Rachael decided to donate another $200 to Henry and Deena’s pay-it-forward project. You never know what a small gesture can do for someone in need. It may have been tempting for the couple to keep the $100 for themselves, but instead, it ended up changing their lives.
