The conservative actor crashed the stage at the Writer's Guild of America Awards on Sunday during Patton Oswalt's opening monologue — just to make fun of his award show attire!

The funny moment occurred after Oswalt made obligatory digs at Donald Trump, saying he was hesitant to poke fun at the president because he "didn't want to be kicked to death by James Woods backstage."

The 69-year-old, who so happened to be sitting RIGHT by the podium, responded by climbing on stage and taking off the comedian's black shoe to show the audience how improperly dressed he was for hosting the show!

Both actors got a good laugh from the soleful bit, which Oswalt later confirmed on Twitter was not planned whatsoever:
