There’s nothing better than hitting the open road with your bestie. You’ve got the tunes blaring, the windows rolled down, and you have nothing to worry about nothing except where you’ll stop to take your next selfie.

Road trips with best friends are epic, and Henry and Baloo think so, too, even though they can’t drive the car, or hold a cellphone to take a selfie. That’s because these besties are a dog and cat.

Owners Cynthia Bennet and her boyfriend first adopted Henry back in 2014. She claims he wasn’t the dog they were looking for, but couldn’t resist him after falling in love at first sight. “He just curled up into my lap and went belly up and flipped his head over my arm,” she says of Henry. “And from then I decided he was coming home with us.”

Cynthia and her boyfriend are avid hikers and were glad to see that Henry was keen to come along with them on their adventures. Their new furry family member happily climbed over rocks and through narrow paths on a weekly basis. However, a few months ago, the trio began looking to expand their tiny family. They wanted a cat, but one that would be just as willing to go hiking and camping as Henry. A hiking dog is one thing, but finding a hiking cat could have been quite another. That’s when they adopted Baloo. They found the Siamese kitten mix at a local shelter, and it may be thanks to Henry that Baloo turned into the perfect hiking companion. Baloo took to Henry immediately, following him outside and eventually on outdoor adventures. Due to being raised with a dog from such a young age, Cynthia thinks Baloo is more dog than cat now! “He’s definitely not the kind of cat we can leave home alone on the weekends anymore,” she said. “I call them brothers, but I think Baloo thinks that Henry’s his mum because he constantly looks for a teet. He’ll go in and you can tell he’s looking because he’s nuzzling under Henry’s armpit.” The pair have now traveled extensively together. They’ve been to many parks, mountains, and hiking trails, mostly in Colorado and Wyoming. But the open road is calling! Henry and Baloo can also be seen sporting an impressive number of hiking outfits, costumes, and gear. Henry even has his own sleeping bag! They certainly are prepared for whatever adventures they may find on their travels. It sure is a dog’s life, isn’t it? Or, in Baloo’s case, a kitty’s life! Henry and Balloo have over 86 thousand followers, and are on their way to being nearly as popular as the incredible Menswear Dog! If you haven’t heard of this Shiba Inu, check out the video below.
